Hatha Yoga-english class
Hatha is a gentle yoga that focuses on static poses. Although it is gentle, it still can be physically and mentally challenging.
In Hatha class, we start with a few minutes of silence and observing our breath to calm down our body and mind and to prepare for asanas. We then will do a short warming up, which helps with having healthy joints, improving flexibility and removing body blockades. We then will continue with Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and a series of Hatha yoga asanas (poses).
In each class we will focus on poses for different target areas. In Hatha, asanas focus is on internal organs and the spine whereas in other styles focus is on muscle groups and joints, yet we will work toward building strength, flexibility and releasing the stress from the body and mind. We will end our practice with Shavasana (end relaxation) following by a short pranayama practice (breathing exercise) for healthy heart and lungs and stronger immune system and a final meditation.
In Hatha, asanas are held steady for longer duration dan most modern styles. The body goes through less wear and tear and the metabolism decreases compared to other styles. Stillness of body and mind is given more importance than movement in Hatha yoga.
No matter if you are a beginner or if are already familiar with yoga, in this class you can improve your practice depending on your own level.
Hatha classes provide an opportunity to improve posture, stretch, unwind, and release tension providing a good counterpoint to both busy lifestyles and cardio workouts. A place to be, if you are looking for bringing back balance and harmony to your body, mind and soul. With our practice we feel our body, silent our mind and re-connect.
Looking forward to welcoming you soon!
Namaste.
